This is my basic medical degree I obtained from Sheffield University in 1983.
FRCS
I became a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of England in 1988 after training in several areas of surgery.
FRCS (CTh)
I obtained my specialty fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 1998, the same year I was appointed as consultant.
MD
In 2005, I was awarded a Doctorate from the University of Sheffield for research I carried out at Stanford University in the United States of America.

Patients should expect their surgeon to be fully trained and have the appropriate qualifications. During my 20 years of undergraduate and postgraduate training, I have obtained a number of degrees that reflect comprehensive training and experience in my specialty.  Since being appointed as a Consultant Heart Surgeon, I have carried out thousands of heart operations . I have been appointed as Reader in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Sheffield.
